Description
The Career Discovery Programme in Architecture, established in 1998 by the University of Hong Kong's Department of Architecture, is a three-week summer course designed to introduce secondary school students to architecture as a potential career. The programme covers historical, theoretical, and practical aspects through lectures, field trips, and workshops led by faculty members and professionals. Topics include aesthetics, urban environments, landscape design, heritage conservation, and computer-aided design, while hands-on activities such as sketching, model-making, and photography enhance practical skills. A key component is the Design Studio, which fosters interactive learning through small design exercises, allowing students to apply their newly acquired knowledge and develop an understanding of architectural training.
